About Us

Colored Threads was established in 2002 by Laurie Rice-Salemi in Indianapolis, IN.  What started out as a one machine embroidery shop has grown to include multiple head embroidery and heat press machines.

We have been located in the historic Stutz Building downtown Indianapolis for the last 7 years and have a large showroom open to the public 9-4 Monday through Friday.  We are able to showcase many of our unique one of a kind designs and items as well as meet with corporate clients to show sample apparel and other items. 

 

Driving Directions

Colored Threads is located in the Historic Stutz Building in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. The Stutz Building is  located on the city block between 10th & 11th Streets, and Capitol and Senate Avenues.  Primary entrances are located off Capitol Avenue and 10th Street (dock entrance). 
Local Directions 
From North or West Indianapolis:
    1. Take I-65 South to Meridian St./Illinois St. exit (exit 113) 
    2. Turn left (north) off ramp onto Illinois St.
    3. Turn left (west) onto 12th St. (next stoplight)
    4. Turn left (south) onto Capitol Ave. (1st stoplight) OR turn left (south) onto Senate Ave.             from 12th St.
    5. From Senate Ave. ONLY, turn left (east) onto 10th St. to dock entrance From North or West Indianapolis (alternate):
    1. Take I-65 South to Martin Luther King, Jr. St./West St. exit (exit 114)
    2. Continue south from ramp one block to 10th St. (3rd stoplight)
    3. Turn left (east) onto 10th Street 
    4. Dock entrance is located between Senate Ave. (1st stoplight) & Illinois St. (2nd stoplight) on the left (north) side of 10th St. 
From South or East (including I-70) Indianapolis:
    1. Take I-65 North to Meridian St./Pennsylvania St. exit (exit 113)
    2. Continue off ramp for 4 blocks (ramp becomes 12th St.)
    3. Turn left (south) off 12th St. onto Capitol Ave. (4th stoplight from ramp) OR turn left (south) onto Senate Ave. from 12th St.
    4. From Senate Ave. ONLY, turn left (east) onto 10th St. to dock entrance

 

Return Policy

Monogrammed and personalized items cannot be returned except in the case of an error on the part of Colored Threads or defective goods.  Any return requests must be made within 5 days of receipt of order.

Shipping Policy

We ship all purchased items via USPS Priority Mail or UPS unless otherwise requested.  Shipping of purchased items by USPS Priority Mail usually takes approximately 2-3 business days, depending on receiver location.  Shipping of purchased items by UPS usually takes 1-5 business days, depending on location of receiver.  Please allow sufficient time to receive your product.  

Shipping fees are not determined until time of shipping, as the shipping cost is based on weight and receiver zip code.  Shipping costs will be emailed to the customer on the day of shipping along with the invoice.
